Bio of Dean Wadsworth

Dean Wadsworth
COO / Chairman
KrabbitSoft Studios Inc.

Early in 1980 Dean expressed a strong passion to become a game programmer.
His parents enlisted him in a private computer school, which had recently opened in Duncan.
By 1986 Dean started to teach programming to other children and even computer operation to
adults. He always said children are easier to teach, they just do, adults ask why
too much. By 1987 Dean started to do computer repair, hardware upgrades and even
fixing monitors. He then started to learn the business side of Computer Retail and
Sales.

In spring of 1986, Dean found another passion other than computers, cartoons,
specifically animation. Taking an ice cream pail, cutting slots in to it every inch
apart and then slowly spinning it, Dean was able to create his own animated scenes.
Within a few short years, he saved up and got a Video Capture board from Creative Labs.
Using the board to record animated videos and he played them back, frame by frame, to
learn animation techniques.

In 1988 Dean and one of his friends discovered a Ninjutsu dojo in Victoria belonging
to the Bujunkan house. Under the training of sensai Don Monro, a medic Scuba Instructor
for PADI, Dean trained daily in both scuba and Ninjutsu until 1997. He also helped to
run the Victoria and new Vancouver branch dojos teaching adults and children.
In December of 1990, Dean wrote a letter to Sierra asking what he needed to know in
order to work for them. They wrote back in Jan 1991 saying C / C++ . Already well
versed in C, he easily picked up C++ within the year.

In 1996 Dean got his first programming break at Datawave Vending. There he helped to
develop and code his first payment gateway transaction processing system. This system
took requests from machines over X25 wireless, dialup modem and frame relay.
Responsible for the validating the data and processing the requests, he was also
responsible for the reporting system showing the operation of the overall system.

After leaving Datawave Vending Dean continued to do private contracting for the
owners of this company and they subsequently assisted in helping him setup his own
consulting and programming company "Tomorrow's Internet Revolution". From this work
he was introduced to Companies such as WSI, Market News, Dunhill Capital and IPO
Capital and acted as consultant on technical ventures. Running a successful
contracting company and contracting friends on various jobs was fun, but this is not
where Dean wanted to be. About this time he met Teri Thom and together they decided
to focus on games. Thus Krabbits were born.

Teri and Dean started with a 2D MMO version of KrabbitWorld, but seeing no future
in 2D, they decided to change to 3D. Both spent 3 years growing the Krabbits and
acquiring the necessary skills for a 3D MMO title. Realizing that the MMO they
wanted to create was just too big, Teri and Dean scaled back their focus and created
their first title KrabbitWorld Labyrinth R1, which is the first step in a much
broader vision.
