home portals:
KrabbitWorld
is a vast and beautiful land, yet dangerous and
foreboding in places. Due to the influx of off-world people
coming
to KrabbitWorld, there became a need for additional, easily
accessible and secure living space.
To provide comfortable housing and safety for all enthusiastic
visitors and future residents of KrabbitWorld, Empress
Turbo
employed the wizard Fivinus to create a portal link between
KrabbitWorld and the plane of existence between worlds.
This task was long and difficult for Fivinus and he accomplished
it without the disturbance of inter-dimensional balance!
Some
attribute this tremendous feat to his now absent-mindedness
and clumsy ways.
This particular type of portal does not require krajules
to power, but
is powered by the magic and technology of KrabbitWorld
itself.
Citizens of KrabbitWorld may pass through this portal
to their own,
completely customized home space, located beyond this
portal link,
whenever they choose. Of course, role playing and social
get-
together such as inviting friends over, having a BBQ,
a dinner party,
etc. frequently take place in these abodes.
In order to increase security, Magistrate Varmint asked
Fivinus to
allow people to protect access to their home space, with
a K.A.P.P.
(Krabbit authentication pass phrase) device, if they so
choose. In
these dwellings you will find another of Fivinus' feats
of genius; a
storage space able to hold an abnormal amount of items
and
clutter, but, I dare say, Fivinus was at the end of his
rope when he
invented these 'repositories', also equipped with a K.A.P.P.,
and now random items sometimes appear in your repository.
These
portals are the trader's, tourist's, and adventurer's
lifeline
and rapid transit system of Krabbit world. These portals
do require
krajules to operate but they were a gift from Empress
Turbo to the
creatures of her Krabbitdom and allow access to even the
most
remote town and outpost. It is also a way for her majesty
to collect
taxes quickly.
They can be accessed in any town and are the best way
to avoid
pickpockets and bandits that abound in the forests and
hills
between cities and towns.
Within
KrabbitWorld, players who have reached a certain level
of
krabbility will be able to create their own portals to
krabbicombs
AND their own krabbicombs using an editor supplied by
KrabbitSoftware inc.
There are two types of krabbicombs they may create:
Passive krabbicombs
These are for Role Playing enthusiasts who wish to expand
their
own character environment space, and host a guild hall,
castle,
or event activity. This creates a creative atmosphere
for some role
playing in a 'safe haven' free from attack and thievery.
The
possibilities are endless and are completely up to the
character.
Aggressive krabbicombs
This is for those who wish to challenge those in KrabbitWorld
to test
their skills and krabbilities. Characters who create an
aggressive
krabbicomb may invite other players to attempt an attack
on the
designer's creation and custom quest or personally duel
other
character for fun and profit. Wary be the wanderer who
ventures into
the places that some of our less than sane players design.
Try if you dare! WWWOOOOOOAAAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! =P
In order for a player to
build a krabbicomb, they must amass a
minimum of 100 krajules to power the krabbicomb generator
which
is housed within the Krabbicomb Power Center (KPC). This
generator
is used to power lights, air circulation, traps or conjured
guards as
well as more portals that lead into and out of the krabbicomb.
Within this environment, whether it is an aggressive or
passive
krabbicomb, the Krajule Powered Generator (KPG) should
be well
protected, for if any krajules are removed the krabbicomb
will slowly
decay and collapse. For example, if you have a 25x25 tile
krabbicomb
and one basic guard, you must have a minimum of 105 krajules
in
the KPG at all times. (see table below)
Here is a list of krajules
it takes to power different sized krabbicombs:
100 krajules - 25x25 tile krabbicombs
200 krajules - 50x50 tile krabbicombs
300 krajules - 75x75 tile krabbicombs
400 krajules - 100x100 tile krabbicombs
15 krajules - basic KPC
30 krajules - medium KPC
60 krajules - state of the art, maximum security KPC
5 krajules - basic guard.
10 krajules - medium strength guard.
20 krajules - powerful guard.
40 krajules - sorcerer guard.
These basics are not the only thing that can be done.
If you have an
idea outside of the editor send it in. We might like it
too and
implement it for you. KrabbitWorld is for the players
and any input is
more than welcome.
World
portals are similar to the rest in the respect that they need
krajules to work but that is where the similarities stop.
The world
portals were created by the ancient Krabbits and the krabbility
to
create new ones has been lost as well as the location of the
gates
themselves.
The gates were in constant use, until a catastrophic event
transpired.
The incident is buried by layers of time so deep that no one
knows
why they were lost. Some legends survive to guide the adventurous
player to finding the portals and with them a new world or
even a way
home for some.
These portals are hidden and many times are part of a fiend's
collection, fiercely guarded. Should a character find a portal,
great
rewards and fame are instore. They may find new worlds to
explore,
meet new friends and maybe plunder a new krabbicomb.
